Default few problems

I have a 2000 Passat GLX V6 Wagon. I've owned it since 30,000 miles. When I first bought it the tires were wore on the inside edges so bad that chords were showing. The rest of the tire tread was fine for the mileage on them. I had new tires installed, had it alligned and thought everything would be ok. Well, it wore this set the same way. I rotate my tires every oil change. So, I went and got another set, brought it to a VW garage for allignment and started again. All be damned it did it again! I am now on my third set of tires. These seem to be wearing longer, but they are still wearing more to the inside. The car is driven 100 miles a day. Anyone else have a similar problem? I hope I can get some help. Thank you.

Now for my second problem. The car is loosing oil. At 80,000 I ran out of oil just before my oil change. I had the oil changed and kept a closer eye on it. Sure enough it was loosing it. about a quart between changes. At 100,000 I had the big service done. They replaced the valve cover gasket because it was leaking. Problem fixed, right? No, it still leaks but at last check a great deal. In two weeks it took a half quart. I use synthetic oil, always have. The car does not smoke at all. There are no leaks. Loosing this much wouldn't I see something? Once again, any help will be appreciated.
