Unhappy Door Not Opening From the Inside

Hello I recently remover the interior door panel to install some speakers but unfortunately I wasn't able to. Now I have a new problem the driver's door won't open up from the inside but it opens up from the outside. How would I fix this problem? I have a 2003 VW Passat 1.8t. Thank You

Maybe you disconnected the linkage from the inner handle when you removed the inner panel, and forgot to reconnect it? Your car won't be the same as the following diagram, but should be similar. Make sure the rod (item 14) is connected on both ends. http://i33.tinypic.com/rvwz5t.jpg

I hooked that latch upto the door but it still doesn't open. Do you have any ideas why? Thanks
