Default Cold Weather Starting 2004 Passat GLX

I am posting if hopes of finding an answer to the Cold Waether Starting (or lack there of) of my Passat. It's a 04 Passat GLX with the 2.8l. I live in Minnesota and have had trouble with the vehicle starting when temps drop to about 10 degrees F and below.
When I am attempting to start the car, it cranks slowly and will fire occasionally. Eventually, it usually starts. But when temps get colder (-0) and below, it will not fire at all.
I have had the battery replaced every winter, and now have ruled a faulty battery out. I don't think I can have the luck of 3 bad batteries in 3 years.
Any information would be great! The last think I want is my "Better Half" and infant daughter stuck out on a cold Minnesota night!

Thanks for your help!
