Central locking + water in passenger footwell
Hi, im new here and a need a bit of help, my brother has just bought a 51plate 1.8 estate passat. There are a couple problems i need some help with.
The central lockng has stopped working since i took out and replace the battery. Would i be right in assuming that this would now need to be callibrated as the remote is still working but not doing anything. Does it need to be reprogramed by vw or is there a sequence i can do to recalibrate it???
Second problem is there is water coming in and has flooded the passenger footwell. Now before i start ripping the carpets up, has anyone else had this problem and could you advise on where to look first. Is this a common fault, as most non vw cars i have owned i know water eventually gets through the grommets.
Thank you and any help is appreciated
Ben

RE: Central locking + water in passenger footwell
try this
you need two keys
have one in the key switch turnedto the on position but not running
put the other key in the door with it in the lock or unlock position hold down the lock botton on the remote
btw what was the leak?

RE: Central locking + water in passenger footwell
At first i thought it was the twopipes under the battery, it wasnt them. Then my brothers neighbour took all the glove box out and some other trim removed the carpet slightly.Pored water on the windscreen and water was pouring in from a small hole in the top left of the passenger footwell.
I need something to plug it now, any sudjestions????
