[hr]Ok so i have a 93 automatic passat and the transmission is shot. i was wondering if it would be a good idea or a feasible idea to swap the auto transmission for a manual transmission. Is it even possible, and if so how much more work would it be then just rebuilding the automatic transmission? Any help or tips would help. :P

 

I dunno if it would be possible to go from an auto to manual, it's easier the other way, I know that. I dunno how you would put a clutch pedal in it. Just rebuild the auto, less work, less money.

 

ya that is what i think i might do, the thing is i'm also look to put a turbo kit in it and the transmission that is in it now is having troubles handling to the torque that the VR6 is putting out now. but i think your right i'm going to have to do a better rebuild on the auto one.
