2012 CC Fuel Filler Cap
So, silly question; when you unscrew your filler cap where do you place it while you are fueling? There doesn't seem to be a place to hang it by the cord or hold it by a clip or anything...
Thanks!
Thanks!

@CharlieFoxtrot, I had the same question. I just bought my 2012 CC yesterday and I opened the fuel door while I was still at the dealership. I asked the general manager but he had no idea either. The salesman suggested using some notches on the upper edge to hang the cap on the fuel door, but I'm afraid that will scratch the door.
@bustovwcc, what year to you have? I think the small peg has been replaced on the 2012.

2012 Fuel filler cap update
@atlbobby;
I went back to my dealership a couple of weeks ago and spoke with my salesman. We went around the lot and discovered that all 2012 and/or late-year 2011 models are missing the green peg in the fuel filler cap; this includes the Golf, Jetta, Passat, and CC. However, VW has kept the same fuel filler door design with the flange that has the hole in it for the peg to fit into. Seems to me that VW decided to nix the peg, but failed to update the design of the fuel filler door to accommodate the cap.
