1997 Passat VR6 gas reacts late
Hello everyone.
I have a 97 Passat VR6, 5 Speed Manual.
Here is the symptom: When I turn the car on COLD everything works perfectly. Once the temperature gauge reaches close to 200 (maybe less about 190) here is what's happening. When you put it in any gear and pressing the gas it feels like the gas (throttle? or pedal) doesn't react. But only for the first inch. After the car jumps and starts going. It's like you press the gas but nothing happening but if you press it more than there is a powerful "pull" and the car starts accelerating.
So I took it to a locsal (non volkswagen) service and they told me it's the air mass sensor. They changed it, it's not. When they first changed it they got a bad one so the check engine lght came up and when they put the scanner in it also gave a code for Throttle body. I know that there is a "butterfly" in that thing what reacts to the gas (pressing)... So they telling me that I have to change that too.
I need some comments... Sorry about the explanation but my english is not so good and also I'm not a repair guy..
Thanks in advance.
Chris
