i own 1996 vr6 passat usually check engine light is on solid in color , today i get in start it up it idle really rough and the check engine light was blinking until i started driving and got up to 3k rpms the light would stop blinking . when i hit gas it falls right on its face any1 got any ideas

A "Check Engine" light accompanied by rough running almost always means it's time to change the spark plugs and wires. MAKE SURE YOU CHANGE THE WIRES IF YOU CHANGE THE PLUGS!!!
