Just received my Passat back from the shop. The EPC Light & Check Engine light were on. Even with these lights on, it rarely caused any driving issues. The thermostat & water pump were replaced. Drove about 5 miles to a store and ran great! Came out 30 minutes later, started up, drove about 20 feet and it stalled. Started back up with a very rough idle, lots of exhaust smoke, the check engine light flashing, and a few minutes later, the EPC light again. Seems to have a fuel delivery system issue and a misfire. Is there anything from the other items completed that could have resulted in these current issues so quickly, or just dumb luck! The mechanic is a very good and knowledgeable mechanic that specializes in VWs. They are closed for the holiday, so I am just trying to wrap my head around what went wrong.
