o see with mine the starter will not even turn on untill i reseal my gas cap......

Last week the mechanics said it was the ignition coil and it cost me $350 to get it fixed. It seemed to be fixed for a few days, but it wouldn't start again today.

Damm mechanics.
Always happy to take ur money, but then it's the same thing.
Have you noticed ony other mitigating factors? Heavy Rain? Puddles?
Excessive heat?
You MIGHT want to consider using your VW dealership. They usually know all the quirks of their models, and know exactly what to test.

I've been trying to get into a dealership, but i live in West Virginia and the VW dealerships are all like 1 1/2 hours away. And i dunno if i can make it there.

if the fuel pump is outside the car buy one from a parts store phone every one you can to get the best price.Get a book or go to the library for the info on changing it have a freind help.shouldnt need many tools and if you get the book it will help in the future and save you mega cash change the filter to. when it does start it runs ok so the other systems are probally ok just not getting gas

that happened to me once and a friend mechanic told me it was the crankshaft that goes bad and had its installation from crankshaft canada.. but i wasn't sure if changing the old crankshaft of yours can make it work out.
