Default Urgent! Oil light comes

hello,

I am new one for VW jetta, just get a 2003 jetta GLS 1.8T for one week from my friend. The mileage is 60K now. Yesterday when I was driveing on the way, the oil light came suddenly. I drove one mile back to home and check the oil level find the oil level is below the lower level and I just bought 5 quart Mobile 5w-30 fully synthetic oil, and prepare to add them by myself. For now is the weekend and no dealer is working on weekend.

The question is :

1. Is this oil light just related to the low oil level or some other part problem?
2. How many quart oil need for the oil change?

I am scared by the "famous" oil sludge problem in VW 1.8T engine, any input is highly appreciated.

thanks

dude tell me you didn't dump all 5QTs in there??!! Below the oil level is approx 1QT maybe another half. I put 1/2 a QT in oil filter, and then dump the rest in the motor. All together it's about 5QT, give or take.

of course NO. I am waitting for some advice. Actually the real oil level is far below the MIN level and I found the warning light is the pump warning light.

Should go the dealer tomorrow morning.
