Default Turn off daytime lights

I know that it is probably illegal, but is there a way to turn off the daytime running lights? I have an '04 Jetta. Its just one of those things that I hate about my car! I'd appreciate some feedback.

Default RE: Turn off daytime lights

For the MKIV:
1. push in on the headlight switch while its in the off position
2. twist to right, while still pushing it in, until it stops
3. pull the switch out
4. remove switch from wiring harness, by pushing in on the side tabs
5. locate the TFL pin
its the top right one, 3rd pin in from the right
6. locate the TFL pin
its the top right one, 3rd pin in from the right
7. bend the TFL pin down
8. reinstall switch

If you have any questions you can shoot me an email.
