Default turbo?

i have a 99.5 or 2000 jetta 2.0 and was wondering how much of a pain in the *** it would be to make it turbo, should i swap the engine for a 1.8t or could i just turbo the 2.0 or super charge it? basically which would be easier and cheaper to do?

what i would do is get a 1.8t or vr6 engine instead of turbocharging the 2.0. u probly wudnt get *** much power out of it. there are more mods to the 1.8 than there are for the vr6 but i think the vr6 is the better engine. i have a 00 jetta vr6 and this baby can run! if u can mod the vr6 u can get sum great power. iv raced a 00 prelude, a new celica gts, and a mits 3000 gt and beat them all stock. the gt was back n forth ill admit but to supposedly have 222hp, that gt didnt impress me. so do a swap.

what I would do, is just turbo the 2.0. They make superchargers for the 2.0, prolly what 8 valve?? There's always aftermarket kits to buy, you just have to find them. There's a place in Salt Lake City, UT called thirty-20 motoring that would turbo mine for $5000 and GUARANTEE over 400hp when they're done. Find places like that!! There's quite a few sites to get parts from, if you need them let me know, I'll make you a list.
