Default Trunk won't open (2000 vr6)

All it does is click and lights flash.
Would this device help? Anyone use it?

I have a video from the inside (removed interior) but unfortunately the format cannot upload here. I can probably email it if necessary (or YouTube?).

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing and check systems out.

You don't post your location in your profile. We do have VAG-COM/VCDS User Locations but very few members add their details.

I've watched that video in your first post, have you checked that?

With VAG-COM\VCDS you can check the voltage and current to components.

Default Trunk won't open (2000 vr6) (Not acuator issue)

Trunk issues, blah blah blah.
Bought a new actuator and installed. Worked randomly. Ironically when the trunk is open, but not when closed. After I installed the old actuator, it worked.

See this video:
? He mentions roughly 30 seconds in that the issue was the wire towards the left of the actuator and not the actuator itself. Any idea how I can look into this?

PS: How do delete threads I started? I'd like to tidy up here for others if I can.

Is that your video or one you have found?

Do you have access to VAG-COM\VCDS to check systems out?

If you can't delete this thread confirm that is what you want and I will delete it.

Not my video.

Do not have access to suggested device. But I think I figured it out. See attached photo. When I moved the wire(s) slightly the mechanism worked (and stronger). But I guess I moved it too much and now won't work again. I also noticed my radio reception has got worse. Related?

Referring to another thread. Will comment there. Many thanks.

I've merged your threads on this problem

Why do you want them deleting?
