Default Trunk Problems

I have a 2001 jetta vr6 2.8 & i can't open the trunk with the key, remote or the interior switch. What's going on with my car? PLEASE HELP![:@]

broken latch
you need to go through the back seat and pull trunk trim (unscrew it)then you can pop the latch from the back side
if you dont know how to do this you could take it to a shop

If i had to guess I think your lock cylinder rod has come loose from the cylinder. Crawl through the back seat and remove the trim panel and check it out.

Lol Same here.. My trunk won't open at all .. All you hear is the noise it makes when you press the open Trunk Button....

so the "emergency trunk release" is not on all years, correct?! i have an 01 and have crawled in there looking for something but there is nothing. i think they started putting them in by 02.

i like the picture of the dude jumping out of the trunk that is on most of them lol
it looks like the same dip**** that is getting zapped by those high energy headlights on those stickers
