Default Trunk

I havew a 2000 GLS and i am having trouble getting my trunk to unlock. i press the unlock button in the driverside door and the key and i hear it trying to unlock but it never does. i was also wondering if you can open the trunk from inside the trunk? can anyone help. Thanks

Have you tried,.....have some one lift on the trunk lid
after you work the release. It may be unlocking but not
popping up. They usually have a spring of some sort to
make the lid pop up when you work the release, and that
could be broken.

I had problems with the trunk as well on my 06 Jetta. Found out it is a latch issue. It is covered by the warranty and you should take it to the dealership. My trunk would not open by any remote or the switch in the driver's door. Then when it would open, it may not close and if it did, the switch on the dashboard would show it as being opened.

It was very frustrating to wonder ifyou would be driving down the road and the trunk would all of a sudden open.
