Speakers
Hi, just bought a red 07 Jetta w/34000 miles for under 12,000 in mint condition! It was a good find. Previously owned a 98 Mazda 626 with 104000, paid for but needed new struts, anti freeze leak and oil leak that I didn't want to pay for...plus a new paint job needed badly.
I had a decent starter speaker system in my Mazda. Left the speakers and the cd player but took my amp. Had Sony Xplods that were loud and hard to distort but lacked some detail to sound quality. I can't believe how good the factory speakers sound in this Jetta. Usually not a fan of component speakers but these sound nice? What brand are they and what sizes are they?
I also got to say this car is freakin awesome...has terrific handling, great smooth ride, some decent speed in it for a smaller engine and the gas mileage is unreal!
I think I may keep the factory radio unit this time but still want to install my 200 watt 4 channel amp which will help the speakers push more effortlessly at louder volumes. For no amp, these speakers push pretty well without one to a point.
One small flaw I noticed is unlike my Mazda that had 6x9's into the trunk area the rear speakers are in the door which I am not as keen on. I blasted the stereo and walked outside, closed the door and I could hear it from a good distance away. Strange that I don't hear too much road noise in the car but the speaker noise lets out of the car easily.
