Default Rear End Noise 99 1/2 Jetta GLS

Hi folks. This is my first post.

My question is: in my Jetta, there is a noise that comes from the rear, especially when it's cold out and/or there are a few extra things in the trunk. Hard to describe it but it's sort of like a low pitched squeak/grinding/vibrating noise. It happens mostly when I'm going uphill or when the car is on a hilly road. Could it be the rear springs/struts/shocks? Any other nuggets?

Thanks

So when weight is applied to the rear, there's noise?? Sounds like a suspension problemto me, unless of course your trunk is gonna fall off. Since that won't happen...lol...I'm gonna put money on the rear suspension

Thanks. I thought the same thing. I'll bring it to my local mechanic for a check up.
