plz help

Default plz help

i have a 2001 jetta1.8t wit 62,000 miles on it manuel trans. i have one problem wit itwhen i shift gears icant go into 3rd gear i took it to vw and they put a new clutch cable on and it worked for about 115 mile and then the same thing now its sittin up at vw again and they are trying to tell me its the clutch and i said it cant be cause the clutch catchs good for all the other gears. i though it might be the sncronizers or shift linkage. but i might be wron can anyone help me plz. im tired of not haveing a car.

yea thats what i thought now there saying tthey got to drop the trans look at it and then come up wit a solition and i aint gonna have the car back till next week some time thats gonna be 3weeks total thats rediculious and they dont give a loner

Dealerships should give you a loner, just go somewhere that does give out a loner. The trans will come down and they tear into it, sux cause it's a time consuming job, especially since it's a front drive car and the sline axles need to come off in order to pull the tranny. If you and buddy do it, it would only take 2 days, you could maybe have your car back in a week, and less money spent.

its not THAT time consuming. mechanics put a jack under the tranny, unbolt it and lower it down. it gets to a certain point and POP the axels pop out. Depending on the vehicle ofcourse. that was for a front wheel drive van.

yea but the car is under warrenty and they claim they will start in the am and have it out and inspected by 2 or 3oclock i hope it dont take to long.
