Default over heating issue

I went in to the garage to fix my over heating issues in my 04 1.8t, the guy said it was a censor. So he put in a new one, iv been driveing around and the engine heat goes up when im doing 80 on the highway. Whats most likely the problem? Does this occur when you hit centain mileage?
Thanks

I have an 02 Jetta GL that had the same issue. It was the water pump. Because the water pump is plastic it broke apart and caused the engine to overheat. This is a common issue with VW with higher miles.

Hope this helps.
