Default noise while turning

lately when in low speeds, usually taking off or backing up and when turning my car makes a low vibrating/grinding noise. i thought in the beginning it might have just been the wheels hitting the well or something but its slowly getting worse and a longer of a noise. i asked someone the other day and they said something in the line of the steering and to check my fluids. has anyone experienced this before? if so, if whatever part it is goes out, is it costly to fix?

If your power steering fluid is full it's more than likely the p/s pump. If there is fluid leaking by the wheel it could be your power steering rack which would be very costly. Does it get harder to steer the more you turn the wheel?

Did you fill it ALL the way up?? There's a max line on the dipstick, fill it up a bit past there and you'll be fine. I'm not sure what would happen, if anything, if you filled it to the brim, but the max line is there for a reason.

yeah its filled to the max line...the guy at kragen asked if i had a leak and im pretty sure i dont. how often should the power steering fluid be filled?! ive never filled it before in any other car...it just seems like one of those fluids that really never gets used.
