I just bought a '04 Jetta GLS TDI, and I was wondering . . . how many times should I warm up the glow plugs if its cold? And whats a good rpm to be revving to? thanks

Welcome! The glow plugs should be warm enough to start the car, dunno what you mean by how many times. I would wait a couple seconds for the plugs to heat up, should start. A good RPM, all diesels I've worked on, drove, and everything else, like 1-3000....along there, don't wanna rev it so high that you blow it up..ha ha. Once it starts, I usually give it a few pumps, goes up to like 2000 or so...on my way. Hope I made sense.

By the way, there is a specific web page for the VW TDI. Log WWW.TDIclub.com to get solution to your problems with your TDI or advice on how to perform procedures/
