Yo Jetta owners and forum browsers.

I've got a 2002 VR6 5-speed and two questions.

1. What is the best tech/repair manual I can get for this vehicle and where can I get it? I like to do my own work, and expect to have this car for a while.

2. When I start my engine cold, and after it starts fine, I sometimes hear a strange whizzing sound for about a second. This doesn't happen when I start the engine warm. Might this be a starter issue?

Sounds like what mine is doing also, found outmy noiseis from the starter. Mine is gettinglouder and worse and its gettin kinda embarrasing cause people look at me weird thinking what the hell was that? My next repair after my motor mount fix.

 

prob need a new starter, cause if its cold it might be disengaging from the flywheel soon enough
