Default need help finding the brake light sensor on my 2000 Jetta

the sensor under the brake that tells your brake lights to turn on. It's a little black thingy that comes out when ur brakes are pressed.

wanna see online prices but can't find the switch im looking for anywhere online...

Why you ask? If your lights aren't coming on, the switch is recall anyways so I dunno what you would be searching for??

no, I'm telling you the switch is a recall. You will know if it's a problem because your EPC light comes on and you have no brake lights when you hit the brakes. Sorry if I came off rude but I was simply stating....

the EPC light doesn't come on. The switch just stopped working, and with recalls, do i go to the dealer and they replace it free or what? i'm not familiar with anything that is recalled.

they made a new style switch a few months ago looks diffrent than any of the old ones looks like it will work better and easy to install without needing too preload it like the old ones
i hatted puting those in you could go through a handfull of switches before you got one to work

like swedish said
