I am getting a weird creaking noise when I drive. It doesn't seem to be coming from my wheels or axel/cv joint, so someone mentioned it might be my motor mounts.
Previously, I had never heard of motor mounts, but I guess when they get worn down, it's metal against metal, and that's what this sounds like. Creaky metal, like worn out springs.
Anyone else have this happen?

 

It's hard to diagnose a noise without hearing it but, I doubt it's the motor mounts.

 

According to the hains repair manual these mounts dont go bad very often. If you want to check your mounts you can put the front of the car on jack stands, (youdont have to but it makes life easier)take a floor jack and put it under the engine and jack it up just enough to take the load off the mounts. Then try to move the engine around and look for any unusual movement. I'd check your struts and strut mounts.
