Default interior trim around new windshield gap

Hi, my jetta's windshield was just replaced this morning and there is a gap in the interior trim. The repair tech said it was due to warping and not fixable. Is that true? I don't remember seeing it before, but then maybe I didn't notice. Will this cause any problems or is it just aesthetic? Can I fix this?

Thanks in advance for any help!
