Default Ignition switch removal

Hello,
I just wanted to share with you how I replaced an ign switch on a 98 Jetta.
It says to use a puller, but I didn't have a proper puller that would work so I removed the steering shaft from the column tube and then removed the screw that keeps the ign switch in place by using a curved screwdrive ( actually I had it bend like a curve).
You can find pics and proceedure of the ign switch on line that will show you how to remove
everything from the the air bag ,st wheel and all till you get to the st shaft sleeve that you supposed to remove with a puller.
You can follow that and then if you want to remove the upper shaft ,you remove the plastic cover from the firewall which will expose the steering joint .
Also you need to rmove the dead bold thats on the side of the coulmn near the signal switch.
I just used a visegrip to turn that bolt a littel , then I comes out evry easily.
The joint I am reffering to should look like this

If you look at the pic the shaft goes into the joint on the left .
You can make this easier after removing the bolt by inserting a good size flat head screwdriver
in the slot , tap it in jently with a hammer till the shaft pulls out.
I used a little flat head chesil instead.
When you are reinstalling the shaft back to the joint ,It will be a lot easier if you remove the coupler in the middle , since this will allow the joint to slide down and give you more room to install the shaft and don't forget to reinstall the spring that goes between the bottom od the column and the end of the joint.
