I WAS the owner of an "old body style" Jetta. 2005 GLi
Recently i got in a car accident, and my Betty is totalled. sad right? I know. So my insurance company told me that if i just wanted a check they'd give me 20,000 for it, and if i wanted to salvage it, it would be about 17,000. The engine is fine, and everything under the hood is in great condition, i was rear ended so the back end is pretty damaged, obviously if i was totalled out. Haha. So my question was, do you think i can get more by salvaging the car? or just taking the money? PLEASE help me

 

Is the car paid off?

 

take the 20k because even if you fix the car for 17k it will be hard to make more than 20 back by selling it with a salvage title

 

i too got rear ended.....i had to replace my trunk bumper and rear windshield.......what is exactly broken on yours?

 

take the $$$...salvage wont get you anywhere.
