Question Help! Low oil pressure light won't go away.

My low oil pressure warning came on Wednesday as I was driving home from work. I got home, checked the oil level, and topped it off (to the appropriate mark on the dipstick. I took it around the block, and the warning still came on. I bought my Jetta in June '09. I don't think the people before me ever gave it an oil change, and that is with 60+ thousand miles. I am currently just over 66k miles. I decided to treat the engine with a desludger and drain it. Well, the oil that came out was definintely sludge. I then refilled the engine with 6 qts. This put the oil level to the mid area of the operating range indicated on the dipstick. The oil pressure light is still coming on. I am currently trying to locate the oil pressure switch to see if it is faulty. That would be much easier (and less expensive) then changing the oil pump. Any thoughts or experiences to share?
