Hazard Light problem

My son has a 1999 Volkswagon Jetta with a hazard light, turn signal problem. Flashes for maybe 2 times and stops. Anyone else have this problem. Noticed there is a recall for this same problem 2000-? vw jetttas.

I'd take it to the dealer and see if there is a recall for it. If not I would guess it would be the flasher relay.

flasher relay is part of the hazard switch
they go bad all the time
cheap fix
