Wink Fusible link or fuse??

Here's an EZ one for all my fellow bloggers.
Today while driving my '99 Jetta the power windows stopped working. After stopping, the car refused to start----systems were powered-up, starter would not rotate. Further exasperating me: the trunk release also won't wrk. Got all sorts of good stuff in there and only have the valet key (lost the real one years ago). I gotta get in there and also it would be nice to start the vehicle.
I know this is an EZ one for you guys. Thanks way in advance!!

Check your battery and ground connections.

Also, check your fuses and relays.
