Default ETKA help

I'm a new user here but been around a while. I'm trying to get ETKA 7.4 running so I can do some research on parts for my '13 Jetta TDI.

Can anyone help with setup details?

I've done ALL the updates there are on ETKA but it still says it's out of date.

Any advice?

TIA

Is there any error message?

Are you sure you have all the updates installed? The xx days left message will show if the latest updates aren't installed, this is normally after 1 month.

Thanks for your response....I have run all the updates and when I try to run it again it says (in german) that there are no new updates.

I have installed the "cracks" by replacing the DLLs everywhere I can find them.
Here are two images illustrating that.

Do you have the German version or have you changed the language to German?

You have to do the updates in sequence unlike the price updates.

Where are you getting the updates from? This weeks are AU1027 SE553 SK559 VW1027

Oh I see that screen dump says 975 so you are way behind as 975 came out August 2013 so I'm not surprised it doesn't work.

I have the german version that you can switch to english once you get in.

I'm trying to get the updates from the application itself (not sure where it's getting it from).

Do you have a pointer to a better install package. This is all I could find a torrent for.

You can't download updates from within ETKA unless you are a registered user. I will send you a PM?

Keithuk - thank you for your help! I have been able to get to 100% current from within ETKA/Update utility. It's SLOW because you can only do 1 or 2 updates at a time and requires a bit of interaction.

With the help of Google Translate (it's all in German until you get into the app and switch to English) and the knowledge you shared with me I know have it running in a Virtual Machine on my Windows 8 laptop!

When you have sorted as many updates as possible I will PM you with a link to download all monthly from 02.2014. All updates are added sequentially so don't miss any numbers.

The installation I have updates itself directly from someplace I don't know. So I'm good to go!

Thank you again for your help!
