i have a 2007 jetta 2.0t and recently there is a screaming coming from under the hood and it isnt the belt or anything i have been told that it might be the wastegate. is there any logic in this

 

I have a 2000 jetta gls 1.8t and have had a problem similar to yours, on my car there is a secondary air injection pump that kicks on when the car is first started. this pump has been quite loud when the car is started and sounds like the turbo bearings are bad or something along that sound. hope this info helps you out I think I just need to replace my air pump looks easy enough, very accessible and it is an electric motor not belt driven
