Default door latch problem

hi, i have a 02 jetta. my driver side door latch is defective, it always thinks my door is open. I read up about this problem and found there can be two causes to this. one is that some welds in the electronic part of the latch are cracked and the other is that the microswitch is faulty. in my case i think its the microswitch. because a new latch is so damn expensive i was wondering if it is possible to weld the two wires (red and blue) leaving the microswitch together so it think my door is always closed. is this possible?

heres a picture of the open latch, you can see the microswitch
