I have a 2003 jetta 1.8t and the weird sound come from the differential (or transaxles) I think. It happens when the left tire spins a little and then the car switches the power over the right tire or vise versa. A really loud crunch type of sound occurs??? Does anyone have this problem?

My father's 2003 Jetta does the same thing. Almost scarey to hear this sound, isn't it? I'll be watching this posting.
