i'm trying to figure out the same thing. haven't been able to find the fuse. every fuse i thought was it would turn off the lights complete even with the switch on. i think that you have to buy the euro type switch that has the extra positions for the fog lights etc. i think there is some code to go with it. I really don't know. i'll ask the service people when i get my car serviced this weekend.

Yea thats true, when the emergency break is on the daytime running lights will turn off while the car is in park.

Try this, pull the parking break up just a little bit while the car is off and then turn it on. That might do the trick. But the only bad thing is that you will be driving with your parking break on which could stretch out the parking break cable.

Im not sure if it works with Jetta's bc i havent tried it yet but it works on a lot of other cars (so ive heard).

I'll research a bit and try to come up with something else. Those daytime running lights get annoying.

here's an idea... Dont do that. if you can remove the paneling around the ebrake ill bet there is a plug or something. but dont drive with your ebrake on even a little.

Sorry Joelzy, just heard that by only moving it a tad played with the sensor. But like I said, never tried it on a Jetta, I was told by a few buddies that it worked on their cars and didnt affect the break.

I wont do it again [&o]

lol yeah i bet there is a relay or something in there. check the manual to see if there is a relay and figure out a way to jerry-rig it.
