Default Crappy fuel consumption.

I have a 2003 Mk Four 2.0 GL Jetta the check engine light has come on and I took it to advanced and they cleared the code after telling me what might be wrong and then about two weeks later it came back on. I replaced the spark plugs and the O2 (oxygen) sensor and the light is still on so now I am thinking that maybe my fuel pump or maybe my fuel pressure regulator is acting up, nothing that I can tell is wrong with the car other than my fuel consumption. The engine temperature stays at 190 I don't smell or see any signs of burning oil. If any one knows what might be wrong or how to fix this please let me know.

When you got the original code, what did they say was the problem? Also, what do you consider to be crappy fuel consumption?

Since you're still getting the engine light, consider the Mass Airflow Sensor.
