Default Coolant Light/Air Conditioning/High Temp

2001 VW Jetta

Here are the issues:

1) My temp is running higher than the 190
2) The Coolant light comes on after running high temp
3) Coolant is full
4) Air Conditioner works for a little bit then will blow hot air

Are these all tied together and how do I fix it?

Thanks!!

Sounds like the cooling fans aren't coming on. Could be your fan thermoswitch, fuses, control module or one or both of your motors. The fuse inside your car is #16. The fuses on top of the battery are a big 40 amp and one of the small 30 amps. If that doesn't fix it go to http://alldatadiy.comor get a chilton's manual and it will tell you how to diagnose the problem.

That would be the thermoswitch.

must be the time for them to start going bad
its funny how stuff seems to break at the same time on diffrent cars

I feel your pain on this subject.
My temp light is flashing but only every once and a while.
My check engine light is staying on but dont really know why.
Also My AC is just blowing out straight hot air and its like my ac doesnt want to accept the coolant.
I had Auto zone run some test on it and it flashed 4 different codes, 1) Temp gage or vaccum leak and the rest were O2 Sensors!!
I know how to fix the basic things on my car, but I dont understand why my temp gage is flashing.

The red temp gauge flashes when you're low on coolant.

when it flashes the coolant is low, maybe it also flashes for another reason but I dunno what. When mine flashes it was because it was low.
