im new to this forum and my check engine light went on and just got it coded..it was for emission system malfunction and airflow malfunction... what can they be??

 

First, welcome to the site. Second, get some spray for the MAF sensor and spray it, it's prolly dirty. Other than that in a Chilton's, they have what everything means, I'm pretty sure.

 

might need a new O2 sensor

 

BTW it has more than 1- O2 sensor.....lol and for the emmissions it could relate to a MANY number of things from transmission all the way to coolant temp sens. Mass airflow to Mapp or TPS sensor. REMEMBER this is a OBD2 CAR SO EVERYTHING ON IT RELATES TO EMMISSIONS. nEVER settle for the quick fix til you are SURE...then check again.
