Default Center back seat belt

Does any know how to adjust the locking mechanism on a 2000 Jetta for the center back seat belt? I had mine working, then needed to lay the seatback down and now can not get it to release so that it can be used.

Thanks

Default RE: Center back seat belt

I'll explain what happened and the repair. If the seatbelt that in the center of the back seat which requires the seat to be locked in place to be usable, gets retracted back in to the seat to much so that it is tight against the seat back, it will not work. The repair is releasing the bottom of the seatbelt from where it attaches to the car, allowing some slack in the seatbelt, then pulling it back out. Then reattach the belt to the bottom attachment. All of this will require you to remove the seat bottom and back from their normal location. The inertia locking mechanism which locks the belt tight when you stop, will only allow the belt to be pulled out if there is some slack, which is good and normal, but since my belt had been pulled as tight as possible against the seat back, I could not pull it out.
