Hi Everyone,
I have a 1995 Jetta, which I just purchased. The engine hesitated badly, so I changed the plugs and wires and that helped a lot. In fact, one of the wires was badly frayed and arcing. But it's still not running right. When I start it, it usually runs rough for at least 5-10 minutes, then gets better, regardless of the outside tempreture. The check engine light usually comes on when going up a hill, and today, when I tried to start it, it stalled and all the lights came on several times. Then it started, ran rough, and then was fine. Any ideas? Thanks for looking and any ideas, Toby

 

spray the coil with a spray bottle of water see if it cuts out more
