Default 99 Jetta IV - Looking for a new CAT

Hi Everyone!

My catilitic converter is making some serious noise, and my buddysays its toast. Anyone know the where to get a cheap replacement? I'm straped for cash. I was planing on getting a new cat, cutting the old one out and welding on the new one to get the job done the cheapest way possible, any thoughts?

P.S If theres a way to get a new cat localy, i would be able to avoid shipping and duty costs. I live in Toronto, Canada

Thanks!

Matt

Default RE: 99 Jetta IV - Looking for a new CAT

i took my 99 jetta in to the dealer for this. They told me there was a recall on the 99 jettas. i take it to get it fixed but i have a V6 and the recall was only on the 4 cylinders. If you have a 4 cylinder than you might be able to get a new one for free from the recall.
