'95 Jetta... driver door won't shut
About a week ago my driver door would not shut when I went to get in it at lunch. Now while I drive around I have to hold the door shut so it doesn't swing open. I need to know how to get the doorapart so I can look inside and figure out the problem. I hear that there is a certain order that you have to go in to get the door open.
Any help from anyone who has done this before would be appreciated. ASAP!
Thanks

I got the latch taken out but didn't see anything obvious that was wrong with it. I took the white/grey molding that was around the latch but could find nothing obviously wrong under that as well. The latch itself is rivetted together and I didn't have a way of getting it back together after I would have taken the rivots out so I just started searching that salvage yards. The dealer wanted $180 for a new latch! Like I am going to pay that. I found the part at a salvage yard here in town but the guy wanted $100 if I pull it! SO i said I wouldn't pay that either and found it at a salvage yard while visiting the in-laws in Iowa and got it for $25.
Haven't put it in yet becuase I ordered a new exterior handle as well becuase the locks were not working and there was a piece that was broken on the handle that kept the auto locks from working. Got the new handle from germanautoparts.com $27 + shipping.
Plan to try and put it all together as soon as possible. Will let you know how it turns out.
