Default 25 years, time to say goodbye!

Hello,

I was looking for some advice on the value of my Jetta, I had every intension of restoring this car and driving it forever. I just don’t have the time or the will anymore, so I have decided to sell it. I would love to see the car go to someone who will do something with it, after 25 it’s like a member of the family.

I was just wonder if I could get some idea what would be a fair asking price?

This car would be a good parts car, or a reasonable candidate restoration. Is currently drivable, but needs new front struts as one is seized and is a safety issue.

1987 Volkswagen Jetta GL
1.8 liter, 5 Speed
Original engine, transmission, and clutch.
High mileage, approximately 400,000 odometer broken.
Runs good for age.
Body condition is good, no major accident, minor dents minor hail and door dings.
Paint weak, no rust on major body parts.
Interior fair, seats have no rips, rear seat upper area and head rests sun damages.
Dash top cracked (has Dashmat cover), front and vents intact.
A/C not working, heat weak.
Due for timing belt (have new uninstalled belt and tension pulley).
Right front strut seized.
Includes Bentley repair manual as well as parts mentioned above.

Thanks

I suggest listing it at $1,000 and working from there. You might only see around $700-$800 due to the mileage and needing work. Sounds like a good solid project/daily with some love. Good luck.
