My 2010 Jetta TDI was involved in a hit and run. It was pushed about 45 ft. while it was in park. Everyone (body shop and insurance company) says if it does not roll away in park right now, it will be fine. My wife and I are worried about the future of this parking pawl. The car only has 13k miles. My question is should the dealer take the trans apart to check it? What if the pawl and or the park lock wheel were ground down a little? Will there be a problem with metal slivers in the trans? - I appreciate any advice - Thanks
