Default 2005 VW- Jetta

Hello!

I have a 2005 2.5 Jetta with 24K miles on it.

Last time I took my car for service at the Dealer they inform me of that my brakes will need replacement soon, actually within 2k miles -

How difficult is to replace brake pads on this car, I have a 99 Altima and a 97 Civic which replacing brakes is a breeze. However when I asked the dealer for a quote they inform me it would be about $600.00 to replace all 4 brakes.

Any tips would be appreciated, I wouldn't mind taking my car to a Mechanic as long as it's licensed and charges a decent amount, however $600 for brake replacement seems a bit too high.

Any tips, help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Never go to dealers for service!! The only things I use the dealer for is Anti-freeze cause I dunno where else to get it...certain parts that are cheaper to buy there, and to pick their brains when i can't figure something out on my own.
