Hello. Im just about to buy a 2005 volkswagen jetta GLI. I have not been around volkswagens very much so i wanted to get some other peoples opinons on these cars. Please let me know what you guys think.

 

Be warned, once you go German there is no going back. What engine does it have?

 

It has the 1.8T with the 6 speed manual transmission

 

That would be a nice car, turbos are a lot of fun. They get good gas mileage too.

Not that I'm aware of. In my opinion German cars are the best built cars. I like working on them a lot more than American or Japanese cars because the engines are well designed and make sense. And maybe you've heard this before, you can shut the door on an American car and shut the door on a German car and you can tell the difference in quality. I have about 135,000 on my car and I haven't had any major problems.
