Default 2004 Mk4 Jetta 1.8t Cranks but wont Start

My wife was driving her Jetta on a rainy day a few months ago and it suddenly died. Cranks just fine but no start. Had it towed home. I have tried everything I could think of with this thing but still cant get it to start.
Ive replaced the following parts:
Crank Position sensor
Fuel Pump Relay
Fuel Filter
Ignition Switch
Checked every single fuse
I sprayed starting fluid in the air intake and it started and then stalled out, so it seems its a fuel problem. Lifted up the rear seat and you can hear the fuel pump prime when key is in position 1.
Scanned the car with standard ODB tool and I get 1 error code P0864, which I believe is a TCM Communication Problem, but I dont understand how that would prevent the car from starting if it is related.

Also, I charge the battery with a trickle charger and after a few days, the battery gets totally drained. So, it seems that there may be something draining the battery or an open circuit somewhere, but Im not sure.
Ive been working on this thing for the past 3 months and cant seem to make any progress. I need help...
