2002 Jetta Black Smoke
So I just bought a 2002 Jetta 2.0 with 89k miles and while I was driving down the road about 70-80 in 5th gear a huge cloud of black smoke poured out of my exhaust while the check engine light flashed. The CEL went off and I had a little less power but it all seems to be alright for now. Thoughts? Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum. 
Well the first thing you need to so is get your car scanned for any error codes that are logged in the ecu seeing as how the CEL(MIL) light came on and post them.
