2001 Jetta MAF Sensor Alternatives
I know this has got to be a pretty common question but I did some searching and didn't see anything specifically. I have a 2001 Jetta (the 2.0) that I have owned for quite a long time. I can't even count the number of times I have replaced the MAF sensor. I've taken it to the dealer, local mechanics, replaced it myself it just constantly burns out and it isn't cheap. It's gotten to the point where I just ignore the check engine light all together.
I know this is really common with that particular year but I was talking to a coworker that used to work at an autoparts store and he said that he thought there was a MAF sensor from a different year Jetta that was compatible and more reliable. He didn't remember what year it was though. Has anyone on here heard of any alternatives to the MAF sensor that is commonly used but that will still work with the 2001?
